Cheers to our world which has over 60,000 species in the world! Hardly anyone can believe that there are more than three trillion trees meaning that there are roughly 400 trees for every single one of us. But among these trees are some that stand out being the oldest (yes, older than us).
So, let's shed some light on some of the 8 oldest trees.
1. Prometheus.
State: Was accidentally cut down by a man named Currey.
Species: Great Bristlecone pine.
Age: 4847 yrs but estimated to 4900 yrs.
Location: Nevada, United States.
Fact: The Bristle Pine is exclusively found in high altitude conditions.
2. Methuselah.
State: Alive.
Species: Great Bristlecone pine.
Age: 4852 yrs.
Location: White Mountains in California(United States).
Fact: Methuselah is older than the Egyptian Pyramids.
3. Gran Abuelo.

Species: Fitzroya cupressoides(Alerce).
Age: 3649 years.
Location: Los Rios, Chile.
Fact: Alerce trees cointain special resins that enable the tree to decompose even when buried or in water. This is why they are endangered.
4. Llangernyw Yew.

Species: Taxus baccata.
Age: 4000-5000yrs.
Location: Llangernyw, United Kingdom.
Fact: The Yew tree has a scary Welsh legend behind it twisting it with a spirit prophesying death.

Species: Cupressus sempervirens.
Age: 4500yrs
Location: Abarkuh, Iran.
Fact: It played an important role in the Iranian culture.
6. The Senator.
State: It was destroyed by a fire accidentally started by a drug user.
Species: Taxodium ascendens.
Age: 3500 yrs.
Loocation: Longwood, Florida(United States).
Fact: A clone of the Senator tree(provided by Marvin Buchanan) was located and is currently growing at the entrance to the Big tree Park.
7. The President.
State: Alive.
Species: Sequoiadendron giganteum.
Age: 3200 yrs.
Location: Sierra Nevada, California(United States).
Fact: The tree was named after President Warren G. Harding in 1923.
8. Jōmon Sugi.
