Do you feel as if you just don't have enough time to keep fit and healthy but can't fit it in your schedule?

Well, then you are in the right place. Today, I am going to share with you 10 health and fitness tips for busy people. Hope that you not only enjoy it but also practise these tips.

1. Focus on your wellbeing and wellness!

If you really want to be fit, your mind and attitude need to focus on the goal. I can tell you all day how to keep fit but if you don't have the will to do it, nothing will change. There is an old English proverb that says: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." All you need is will and it will take you a long way.

2. Drink water.

Drinking-water

While drinking water is easy, many of us(including me) sometimes forget to drink water. Now you may ask, does drinking water really make me fit? The answer is yes! Water regulates your body temperature and lubricates your joints. It helps transport nutrients to give you energy and keep you healthy.

Water also helps you reduce stress which may be harmful to your health. So,why not try it? Drink at least 8 cups of water per day.

If you're not motivated to drink water, try taking a watermelon, milk, herbal tea, natural juice or other healthy fluid substances.

If you easily forget things, download an app that reminds you to drink water!

3. Ideal foods.

Healthy-food

When you have a busy schedule, it can be difficult to eat healthy foods. You always find yourself ordering takeaways, pizzas and other junk food. So, how can you change that?

One way to do that is to plan your meals ahead and stock up on healthy foods. Try learning how to cook easy and fast recipes.

If you need a quick snack, why not try these foods for a change:

  • Tomatoes(have a healthy heart.)
  • Berries(have a healthy heart, improve blood sugar.)
  • Apples(lower chances of diabetes and cancer, boost your heart and brain. )
  • Ginger(boost your heart and lungs.)
  • Beetroot(lead to a reduced risk of heart attacks, heart failure and stroke)
But if you really must go to your favorite fast food restaurant, try ordering these healthy fast foods.

4. Comfortable working space.

Working-space

When at home, keep your working space well lit and ventilated. This can help you keep a healthy mind and further reduce stress even if you may not see the results on the spot.

Lack of proper ventilation can affect your mind negatively and affect your breathing function thus disabling you from reaching your full potential and thus making you unhealthy.

5. Check your health consistently.

Visit-doctor

In your free time, get a checkup from a doctor. If something feels off, visit the doctor no matter how busy you are. If you postpone your medical issues, your condition may escalate and become something deadly.

6. Leisure activities.

Playing-volleyball

After working for a long time, try relaxing. Take up that dancing class, play football instead of being a couch potato, go to the spa, go hiking, swim, start gardening, play volleyball on the sand, take a hot bath or even go to the sauna. Watching funny Youtube videos can also help you unwind, have fun. Just laughing can help you keep fit. Your body needs to let out steam at the end of the day. Find your hobby and enjoy it!

7. Work out on the go.

Hiking

I know you're very busy but you need to find ways to exercise.

These are things you can do to exercise:

  • Consider standing instead of sitting at your desk.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Try walking or riding a bike to work instead of driving or taking the bus.
  • Listen to music and dance when doing your house chores.
  • Women should avoid wearing high heels for long periods.
  • Carry your shopping home instead of taking a cab.
  • Go swimming with a friend instead of meeting for coffee.

8. Cut off unhealthy habits.

No-drugs

Reduce unhealthy intakes of alcohol, drugs, sweets and junk food. They are harmful to your health ad can cause you mental issues. Stop hanging around with people who make you go partying, drugs and alcohol. Instead hang out with optimistic people and people who push you to live a healthy lifestyle. If you do that, it will be much more easier to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The journey will be difficult for sure but think of the benefits. I know it is not easy to give them up, but it is not impossible either.

You can switch to dark chocolate, fruits and natural sweeteners such as honey, stevia and sugarcane. This way, you can limit your alcohol intake and reduce your smoking gradually until you are able to quit.

9. Self care.

Yoga

Pressure from your work can cause stress which is very harmful to your health. When you recognize you have stress, take some time off from work. You can meditate, practice yoga, listening to music, write or even just spend some time alone.

10. Spend time with loved ones.

Study shows that when you spend time with your loved ones, the pain subsides. When you are going through hard times, just hearing someone tell you that it's alright can be very beneficial to you. But in order to be able to feel their helping hand when you are going through a lot, you need to keep your loved ones close.

Most men keep everything bottled up because society says they need to be strong. It's okay to be vulnerable. Just cry. Unlock your heart, talk with your loved ones and your body will take care of you.

BONUS: Use the loudspeaker on your mobile phone. Whilst on long calls, try taking a walk.
